In times of experiencing the cold season of winter, we mobilised resources such as blankets, clothes to keep individuals warm. We worked closely with society at large by campaigning for them to either donate R60 to the Langelihle Youth Foundation account to provide for one blanket and individuals were welcome to also purchase blankets which would donate to orphanages. We have donated 150 blankets to the following orphanages:
– Tembisa Child & Family Welfare Society (Kopanong)
– Tembisa Child & Family Welfare Society (Phomolong)
– Tshegofatso Rona Welfare
As the country experienced a cold front this winter Langelihle Youth Foundation, in collaboration with Tshegofatso Rona Welfare, Kaya FM, SAPS (Kempton Park), and ordinary South Africans, Langelihle Youth Foundation was able to donate thirty blankets to the homeless. This included speaking to the homeless about the life challenges they experience and drug addictions due to the state of the economy of the country. This resulted in long term-term rehabilitation efforts to help communities more specifically the homeless to recover and rebuild.
